Although Gibson has no involvement with the current film the actor still made an appearance in good spirit for the franchise made famous by him about three decades ago.
Gibson even came face to face with his replacement the British actor Tom Hardy and smiled with him while walking the red carpet. Gibson showed he has no hard feelings as he posed with the younger 37 year old actor.
Gibson also posed with the director George Miller who directed the original 1979 version. However Tom Hardy described the meeting as ‘Awkward’ because the character of Mad Max is synonymous with Mel Gibson and he was meeting him for the first time.
According to Hardy Gibson is Mad Max and he is playing Mad Max now, which made it all very awkward for him. But Hardy also stressed he had to meet Gibson and look at him from a young man’s perspective to say hello.
All seemed to be ok between the two stars as Hardy shared he thought Gibson was bored with him but still talked to him for hours. Hardy even made Gibson one of his infamous bracelets he has been giving out to everyone on the set of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’.
