CMT Music Award nominees have been announced on Wednesday and Carrie Underwood is the one who is leading the pack with five nominations. The country singer received two nominations for Video of the Year, two nominations for Female Video of the Year and one for Collaborative Video of the Year for the song “Soemthin’ Bad” which is a duet with Miranda Lambert.
Other songs of Carrie Underwood that have been nominated are “Little Toy Guns” and “Something in the Water”; the latter song reached No. 1 spot on Billboard Hot Country Songs and topped the chart for seven weeks. The song also won a Grammy Award earlier this year.
Carrie Underwood, the 32-year old country singer rose to the fame with American Idol as the winner of the fourth season, contested in 2005. Her first album “Some Hearts” released in the same year. Her five studio albums have been released as of yet with “Greatest Hit: Decade #1” is the most recent one.
Kenny Chesney and Lady Antebellum both received four nominations. Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, musical duo Maddie & Tae and Miranda Lambert who was the top contender last year, are tied this year with three nominations each. Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Lee Ann Womack. Luke Bryan, Raelynn and Sam Hunt are also in the mix with two nominations apiece.
