The head of Catholic Church revealed in a recent interview that he misses the freedom of walking in the streets and going out for the pizza

What it takes to be the leader of Roman Catholic Church?

In a recent interview published in “La Vol del Pueblo”, an Argentinian newspaper, Pope Francis revealed how his life is different from a normal person and what he has to sacrifice to become the head of the Catholic Church.

Pope Francis, who preaches equality for everyone, has not watched television since July 15, 1990, which means the last time he had seen something on TV was almost 25 years ago.

“I have not watched TV since 1990. It’s a promise that I made the Virgin of Carmen on the night of 15 July 1990.”

He did not told what was the last program he had watched or what was the reason for quitting television; he simply decided “no es para mi” (it’s not for me). The Pontiff did not even watch the football matches of his hometown team “San Lorenzo de Almagro” on television. Instead, he has a Swiss guard who keeps him updated on match results and positions in league table.

It also appears that Pope Francis does not use any alternate medium like internet for getting news. However, he reads newspaper for ten minutes in the morning.

Talking about the things he often misses after becoming the leader of the worldwide Catholic Church, Pope Francis said. “To go outside,” he said. “The tranquility of walking in the streets or to go to a pizzeria to eat a good pizza.”

When it was suggested that he can request to deliver it to the Vatican, Pope said. “Take-away is not the same. You have to go there.”

When asked had he ever dreamed of becoming a pope in his childhood, Francis said no, “Never, nor to be president of army general.”

But Pope Francis wants to be remembered as a “good guy”. ‘I hope they say “he was a good guy who tried to do good.”
