Chinese smartphone makers are going crazy these days and coming up with mind blowing innovations. If recent rumors are to be believed, ZTE is soon going to announce world’s first smartphone with 4K display. The main problem faced by the smartphone manufacturers these days is the battery life and with such a high resolution screen, ZTE is ready to face this challenge. According to the rumor ZTE Star 3 will feature a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2160 by 3840 pixels and a PPI of 806 which is just insane. ZTE is said to use a TFT Panel with a special crystal structure which will reduce the power consumption and improve the strength of the display.

We have already heard about a 4K phone with same PPI of 806 from Sharp but it wont be ready before 2016. ZTE Star 3 is said to be manufactured by China's BOE and feature very narrow bezels. We have already seen some leaked renders of ZTE Star 3 before which showed very narrow bezels along with a curved back and dual-camera setup on the back. With 4K TVs already taking the market by storm we might see 4K smartphones from other smartphone makers but it will be interesting to see how these 4K smartphones will keep up with the limitations of the battery.
