HTC is not yet ready to be acquired by Asus. The company has other plans.

HTC has shown Asus the door as far as an acquisition is concerned. The Chairman of Asus tried to pass a hint regarding the takeover of HTC by his company at a recent meeting. The cat was supposedly out of the bag.

And rumors have a half life too. But later on HTC execs denied that such was the case. In fact, they strongly quelled any such nonsense and said that they couldn’t imagine such a thing to actually take place in the real world.

HTC is in the doldrums. It is in hot water currently. The company seems to be at loggerheads with its best interests. Profits are not as large as they should be and so things are looking down. Its latest M9 model didn’t get purchased as much as touchscreen models so the company hardly earned enough revenues.

However, the company has managed to forestall any hindrances in its path just in the nick of time. For one thing, it has plans that might land it in a more favorable situation. But for now the thing is all on paper and it has to be applied in order to win accolades for HTC.

“We strongly deny the news. We didn’t contact Asusteck and will not consider the acquisition. As an international brand, HTC will continue to design world-class innovative smart devices through its pursuit of brilliance brand promise,” company said in a statement.

A VR headset and a standalone camera are two of the new projects that HTC has up its sleeves. They will revolutionize the name of the company. Nevertheless, HTC remains behind the likes of Huawei, Samsung and Lenovo.

Asus of course still has its eyes on HTC but HTC is like a coy mistress that is defying all of Asus’ attempts at cajoling it in into its arms. Let’s wait and see what happens in the future. If HTC’s plans fail then it might just have to give in and join forces with Asus after all.
