Alyssa Milano announced leaving the show last season and will not appear in the third season of Mistresses and will be thoroughly missed by the creators and cast of the show.
Alyssa Milano played the character Savi, the sister of one of the main characters of the show Josslyn (Jes Macallan). Savi was a very influential character in the show’s format and she was leading a very strong storyline.

Appearing in the first two season of Mistresses, Savi’s character is about to run into Joss making out with her ex-husband Harry on Joss’s wedding day. And that was where the show was left off.
Unfortunately, the show was decided to be shot in Vancouver for the third season and Milano told the creators that she could not move from Los Angeles where the show was originally shot. Thus, the third season will regrettably be without Alyssa Milano.
The show creators Rina Mimoun and KJ Steinberg gave interview to THR in which they talked about the show without Alyssa in it. They confessed that Alyssa leaving had left a void in the storyline and their hearts. Alyssa is like a great friend.
The absence of whom creates this void but life continues to roll on. They said that although she won’t be there, Alyssa’s character Savi’s presence will be felt a lot especially in the two hour season premiere.
Mimoun and Steinberg also talked about the story shift they had to make because Alyssa was going. Mimoun confessed that it was quite a challenge to the writers to come up with a storyline without Savi and it came up to some pretty good stuff than if they had had Savi in the show.

Talking about Savi’s absence and the effect it would have on the characters, they said that ofcourse the characters would feel Savi going a lot. Especially Joss and Harry. Joss would be in a whirlwind which would be an excellent time to introduce Jennifer Esposito’s character into the show who will take Joss on a wild and fun ride which will be mutually great and destructive at the same time.
