A diabetes drug, Liraglutide aids fat burning among the obese. It has in fact proven a boon for those fighting the battle of the bulge.
Liraglutide is a diabetes drug that can be administered by a hypodermic syringe. And it is a great weight loss aid that has allowed many of the obese and morbidly obese to lose as much as 18 pounds of flab.

The majority of the patients who were given the drug were able to keep the pounds from piling back on their frames. This is good news in the struggle which the United States is engaged in with the obesity epidemic (or should we say pandemic).
Many nations were selected for the experiments conducted with the wonder drug. They spanned Europe, the Americas, Australia and Africa not to mention Asia. The test subjects were all young adults or older people and they had a BMI that was 30 or even higher.
The majority of the patients were given a suitable dosage of the drug alongside the advice to practice lifestyle enhancing factors such as exercise. The rest were given a placebo and lived sedentary lives. By the end of the study, those in the placebo group had lost only 6 pounds. But those administered the drug had shed 18 pounds of fat.
This weight loss amounts to over 5% of the body’s adipose tissue, a significant mass to improve insulin levels and lower the rate of all the diseases that affect the obese. There were a few side effects that went along with taking the drug.
These included: stomach cramps, stones in the gall bladder and a very minimal chance of contracting breast cancer. The tumor risk may actually just be a possibility due to the fat melting and the cancer being detected as a result. Doctors have said that this drug shows promise and it might just as well be what everyone was in search of to evade the obesity crisis.
It is a sure fact that even a 5% or 10% reduction in overall weight will be an ameliorating factor in disease risk due to the accursed malady. A low dosage of Liraglutide helps people with diabetes. But higher doses will aid in rapid weight loss.
Obesity as everyone knows happens to be America’s #1 problem (besides depression). And maybe the two are connected in some strange way. Over 35% of Yankees are bursting at their belts. There are two other anti-obesity drugs on the market too but their deleterious effects make them a health hazard.
