While Jurassic World led with a whopping $30.9 million, Inside out earned $30.1 million over the 4th of July weekend in a very close call between the two films, reported EW.
It is possible in just another week Inside Out may dethrone the film Jurassic World from its number one position, however for the moment Jurassic World is till dominating.
Even if Jurassic World fall from the top spot it has already surpassed as the biggest blockbuster movie of summer 2015 and has also become the fifth highest grossing movie of all time, pushing Avengers: Age of Ultron in second position.
Jurassic World earned an estimated $1.385 billion at the international box office and $558.2 million at the domestic box office. Jurassic World even snatched the title of the biggest showing of all time in North America from the Dark Knight.
While Inside Out has been earning good just behind Jurassic World, other releases over the 4th of July weekend didn’t do as much business as was expected of them. Both Magic Mike XXL and Terminator Genisys tapered off with meagre earnings.
While Terminator Genisys earned only $28.7 million for a film from a highly popular franchise, Magic Mike XXL fell short even more and only earned a disappointing $27 million. both Terminator Genisys and Magic Mike XXL were highly anticipated movies of summer 2015 but did not even manage to earn in a good revenue.
