Rosie Perez will be leaving the talk show The View this August after tackling a tough routine between Broadway and the show.
Rosie Perez was rumored to be leaving The View in January. At that time, she was rehearsing for her role in Larry David's Broadway play Fish in the Dark. She did not quit then and retained her position as a panelist while juggling the performances on Broadway at the same time. While that phase has passed, the show and Rosie might have realized that there is more that could be explored.

On the pretense of pursuing acting on a bigger scale, Rosie has been confirmed to leave the show this August. The View will see the end of its current season by August 6th and it will be the last episode Rosie will sit on as a regular panelist.
Rosie has thanked The View for their flexibility and understanding while she was tackling the show and acting at the same time while The View executive producer Bill Wolff called it an impressive feat for the actress and panelist.
During the episodes that she was amiss, the show lacked and if the actress needed more time for acting than it was evident that the show would suffer. Thus the decision has been finalized and Bill Wolff made the announcement to ABC crew officially in a statement which appreciated Rosie as a person.
He also stated that Rosie has brought a lot intellect and insight to the show. He called Rosie a part of The View family and she would always remain so. He also stated that Rosie would always be welcome to star in the show as a guest.
He entailed that they would soon be planning a proper farewell for Rosie but in the meanwhile, everyone should thank Rosie for all she had done for the show. For those who don’t know or don’t remember, Rosie first joined the show last September to fill one of the chairs vacated by Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy.
Now as she is going, there is a lot of speculation about who might be taking her place. Meanwhile the future of panelist Nicolle Wallace also seems to be undetermined on the show. It will be interesting to see who would replace these two.

“The View” Executive Producer Bill Wolff confirmed Perez’s exit in an email (via Variety) to the ABC daytime show’s staff on Tuesday.
Our friend Rosie Perez has decided to leave the show at the conclusion of this season to pursue full time her love for acting.
Stepping into the role of talk show host at the same time she has been starring on Broadway has been incredibly impressive. And beyond being an enormously talented performer, Rosie is a dedicated advocate who has brought passion and insight to the panel every day.
Rosie will always be a part of “The View” family, and we will welcome her back as a guest anytime to catch up. We’ll plan a proper send off for her in a few weeks, but in the meantime, please join me in thanking her for her great work on the show.
