The BBC show Sherlock set in the current era has been hugely popular since its debut. So for the coming Christmas BBC decided to take the story back into the original Victorian Era and feature a one-time special episode.
The news that the episode will feature Sherlock and Watson in the Victorian Era first came out in March when they were seen shooting in top hats. BBC has still not revealed when the episode will air exactly, but Steven Moffat the co-creator of the show called it an historical adventure which will be a standalone from the series.
A third season of the BBC show Sherlock is expected to return soon with three additional episodes, but the Christmas special will be its own things with a completely different storyline.
The picture shared by BBC on twitter showed Cumberbatch clad in a classical three piece suit and leaning on a green arm chair while striking a contemplative pose as he stares into the camera.
While Sherlock’s long suffering assistant Dr. Watson can be seen sporting houndstooth suit and handlebar moustache along with a pocket watch as he leans on the arm of the green sofa. The caption accompanying the image told everyone to simply ‘Shut Up’ as another Sherlock image has landed.
