Amazon Prime Day Deals Teased

Amazon Prime Day Deals Teased

Amazon Prime Day is on July 15. Amazon promises Black Friday like deals. Now the retailer teased two deals.

Last week Amazon announced Prime Day, a sales event supposed to be bigger than Black Friday. Amazon Prime Day takes place next week on July 15 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Amazon.

Today Walmart CEO Fernando Madeira challenged Amazon by announcing a big online sale on July 15 as well. Walmart already features a Dare To Compare promotion on that shows deals better or the same as on Amazon.

Amazon promises more deals than on Black Friday. The only condition to take advantage of the deals is an Amazon Prime membership. Amazon is offering a free 30-day Amazon Prime trial, making this requirement not such big barrier. Walmart calls though Amazon out and makes fun of the $100 entry fee to get great deals.

The Prime Day deals are across dozens of categories including electronics, toys, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports and outdoor items and more. Prime members will find deals on items for summer, family road trips, back to school supplies, and everyday essentials. It is not clear how Amazon will make Prime Day bigger than Black Friday. Last year the Amazon Black Friday sale was 8 days long with new deals being released every 10 minutes.

The best Black Friday 2014 deals on Amazon included $79 32-inch LED TV, $119 40-inch LED TV and $3.99 Blu-ray movies. Amazon has teased two Amazon Prime Day deals on their Facebook page that could be interesting. Amazon says that there will be a name brand 32-inch Smart HDTV for under $200 and Chromebook laptops for $199.

A quick check shows a $217.99 Samsung UN32J4000 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LED TV (2015) offered on Amazon right now. Getting that smart TV for under $200 is nice, but not Black Friday-like. The Chromebook Amazon Prime Day deal depends on the model. There are several Chromebooks on sale for under $200 now.

So for now there is no exciting deal to look forward on Amazon Prime Day. We will be analyzing the Amazon Prime Day deals as soon as they appear and publish a deal guide as we do each year during the Black Friday sales season. The fact that Walmart is challeges Amazon on July 15 with their own sale increases the likelyhood of great deals for consumers.

Prime Day is a global shopping event taking place in the U.S., U.K., Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and Austria.
