Amazon managed to create quite a stir around the Prime Day sale on July 15. This Black Friday sale in July could become an annual sales event.
Amazon announced Prime Day to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The retailer raised tremendous attention for the Black Friday sale in July that this could become an annuals sales event. Smaller retailers already start to jump on this moving train and also host July 15 sales. The only thing that can stop Prime Day is lackluster deals and the fact that there is no big reason to buy. Back To School is still too far out and there is no big gifting event in the near future. One of the reason Black Friday is so big is because Christmas is coming up. On top of that it is in winter where people focus on purchases for the home to cocoon over the winter. They buy new TVs, video games and other entertainment products.
Now consumers are rather looking at small purchases in outdoor gear, sports and fashion. To overcome this situation Amazon needs to offer exceptional deals on popular items. The two teased Prime Day deals will not cut it.
To get attention Walmart's deals need to be also outstanding. Walmart already started to match Amazon deals on walmart.com, but the featured products are not that exciting.
We will provide shopping guides for Amazon Prime Day and for the Walmart July 15 sale as soon as the deals appear as early as midnight.
