  • Rovio to release Angry Birds 2 on the 30th of July on app stores!

Six years after the original Angry Birds game a Bigger, Badder and Birdier sequel to the mobile game Angry Birds is set to be released.

On Thursday Rovio the mobile games based company announced an Angry Birds sequel entitled ‘Angry Birds 2’ set to be released by the end of this month i.e. the 30th of July. After the original mobile game came out six years ago it sky rocketed to success and was downloaded more than 3 billion times from the app stores.

The success of the game was followed by a film, numerous spin-off games, plush toys, and even an amusement park; however Rovio did not perform so well in all these ventures and still struggling to become a major company.

The original Angry Birds game came out in 2009 with a simple but addictive design. Quickly the game reached the top spot on the iOS game charts and was even released on other platforms such as Android, Windows, game consoles and PCs.

Since then Rovio became a prominent mobile game company and launched a number of spin-offs to the game such as Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Stella etc. however there is yet to be a direct sequel to the game until yet.

Now Rovio has announced in an official blog that it will be releasing a full-fledged Bigger Badder and Birdier sequel to the game. The Angry Birds 2 website has revealed the original characters from the beloved game will return along with the villains the nefarious green pigs.

Rovio has also promised it will be releasing additional information about the game in the days leading up to the release in the official blog. Teasers, videos and other info will soon be revaled on their website regarding Angry Birds 2.
