Carey is the 5,556th recipient of Hollywood Walk of Fame
After spending more than 25 years in music industry, Mariah Carey finally gets a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. She is the 5,556th celebrity to receive the honor.

The ceremony was held on Wednesday and attended by hundreds of cheering fans. Carey was wearing a stunning black dress as she arrived at the ceremony. At 11.30 a.m., she was presented with honor in front of W Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard.
“I just want to thank all the fans for coming here today.” Carey said to the screaming crowd. “I can’t thank you enough for being here with me, really. You’re melting my heart. You’re making me cry, and that’s why I’m keeping on my glasses, but I can’t thank you enough.”
“This is a huge honor. It’s a childhood dream come true. It’s been long time coming, so they say and I’m very, very, very honored and very humbled and just so thankful to be here.”
Carey was selected for the honor in 2007 but the date was finalized earlier this week. She was joined by chairman and CEO of Epic Records, L.A. Reid, president of programming for BET, Stephen Hill, Brett Ratner and director Lee Daniels. Lee Daniels was the director of Carey’s film “Precious”. Brett Ratner is a filmmaker producing a movie which will feature Mariah Carey in the lead role.
Carey’s two kids Monroe and Morrocan were also present in the ceremony. Both remained glued to their mother for almost entire ceremony.

Mariah Carey is one of the best selling music artists of all time. She has sold more than 200 million music albums and 18 of her song were No. 1 at Billboard Hot 100.
