OnePlus 2 Sale Starts at 10am CEST

The OnePlus 2 goes on sale today. People who have an invite can order the new smartphone today starting at 10am CEST. There is bad news for American OnePlus fans.

The Chinese smartphone startup OnePlus is starting to sell the new OnePlus 2 smartphone starting today (Aug. 11) at 10am CEST. To be able to order, customers must have an invite.

OnePlus has collected over 3.5 million reservations for the OnePlus 2 over the past two weeks. This impressive number is starting to be an issue for Samsung. There are just 3.5 million that will not buy the upcoming Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 to be unveiled this week on August 13.

While European OnePlus fans can expect to receive the OnePlus 2 still in August when they order today. American fans have to wait at least until September to receive their OnePlus 2. The company posted this bad news on their forum.

The post reads:

"The production of the OnePlus 2 is in full swing and we’re excited to get the OnePlus 2 in your hands. However we do want to tell our users in North America that due to production schedules, shipping to the States and Canada will commence 2-3 weeks after shipments to Europe. But don’t worry, this won’t affect our selling date. You can still use your invite codes to purchase the OnePlus 2 at starting August 11.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Although some fans may be disappointed to hear this news, we would rather be transparent about the situation. Thank you for your understanding and continued support!"

This delay might push some fans to the new Samsung smartphones. Delays are poison ivy for early adopters.

The new OnePlus 2 high-end smartphone priced at affordable $329 (16GB version). The 64GB OnePlus 2 has a $389 price-tag.

For the money you get a lot of performance and features. The highlights of the OnePlus 2 are 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core CPU with 1.8Ghz, Adreno 430 GPU, Fingerprint sensor, 5.5-inch full HD IPS screen and 13MP camera.

The OnePlus 2 runs on OxygenOS based on Android 5.1. The OxygenOS enhances Android with off-screen gestures, customizable button and themes, improved keyboard, app permissions and improved audio with Waves MaxxAudio technology.

The carrier-unlocked phone comes with a wide range band support for service providers worldwide. The dual SIM capability allows to use two networks simultaneously, ideal for travelers.

The new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5 beat the OnePlus in several areas, most notably screen resolution.

The OnePlus 2 will be available for purchase on the OnePlus 2 site.
