Redneck Scented Candles Light Up Twitter

For the first time ever #RedneckScentedCandles is a top trending hashtag on Twitter.

This morning hashtag #RedneckScentedCandles is the top trending hashtag on Twitter. The usual Twitter response to a top trending hashtag is to miss-use it to promote other stuff. Some is related, but most is not.

It always takes a while to get to the bottom of this. There is actually a Redneck Scented Candle on sale on Etsy.

WesternWax sells the Redneck Woman Scented Candle. It's a 14 oz Soy Candle in Upcycled Mason Jar selling for $20. The scent is an exotic blended fragrance of raspberry, cantaloupe, watermelon, jasmine and violet.

The text on the candle is what makes this candle an fun present: "A redneck woman can cook and clean, says her prayers and supports her country. She knows how to bait a hook, chug a beer, get dirty and drive a truck. But don't ever forget, she knows how to load more than a washing machine, and if you hurt her once, she'll shoot you twice!"

Jeff Foxworthy has apparently nothing to do with this redneck joke. We are still doing some analytics on tracking down the source of this new viral Twitter hashtag. Turns out its a Hashtag game run through the HashtagRoundup app by Twitter user @fishdaddy37. It is this week's Poppin Tags.

Users of the app collect points for their Tweets and get ranked in leaderboards. #RedneckScentedCandles turned though out to be hit with Twitter users not playing the game as well.
