The singer, who got her start on Hannah Montana, shares the stress she had to undergo.
Miley Cyrus, for all of the craziness that she seems to have gone through, is actually one of the most well-adjusted child stars that the world has seen. She is healthy, she is earning money, and she hasn't stopped talking to her parents. However, she is open about the fact that achieving such fame at such a young age has left her with some scars.

A lot of people were annoyed with Miley came out as something totally different from her Hannah Montana alter ego, but now it seems like she However, in an article with Marie Claire, Miley explains what exactly happened while she was on set and why she was so happy to leave that all behind:
“From the time I was 11, it was, ‘You’re a pop star! That means you have to be blonde, and you have to have long hair, and you have to put on some glittery tight thing.’ Meanwhile, I’m this fragile little girl playing a 16-year-old in a wig and a ton of makeup. It was like Toddlers & Tiaras. I had f***ing flippers. I was told for so long what a girl is supposed to be from being on that show. I was made to look like someone that I wasn’t, which probably caused some body dysmorphia because I had been made pretty every day for so long, and then when I wasn’t on that show, it was like, Who the f*** am I?”
She then went on to tell how people on set filled her with energy drinks and coffee so that she could get through the 12 hour shoots. All of that added up to a lot of anxiety that manifested in sickness. She says: "I’d get hot flashes, feel like I was about to pass up or throw up. It would happen a lot before shows, and I’d have to cancel. Then the anxiety started coming from anxiety. I would be with my friends, thinking, I should be having so much fun. You get in this hole that seems like you’re never going to be able to get out of.”

Miley doesn't blame anyone for the way she was treated as a child, but it is important to note that she has distanced herself from her father in the recent years - her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, was on the show with her.
