Heroes comes back with as Heroes Reborn with the death of a main character, the comeback of a few and a new cast of super powered heroes

Heroes ended after five seasons. It finished off with a big bang. Claire Bennet (played by Hayden Panettiere) came out with the truth at the end.

She declared to the world that she had powers. That was before the terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas. The series finale felt complete and incomplete at the same time.

Executive producer Tim Kring communicated with the press. He was present at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour. He said that the story was left where it seemed complete.

When the series did end, no one was expecting it to. He said that the end was made in such a fashion that it would seem as the end. While also giving it enough space that if they wanted to continue, they could.

Five years later, the show is returning, reported EW. This time it will be called Heroes Reborn. The series is set in actual time. Kring said that the story was much in play.

The return of the original cast members depended on two things. The story and their own availability. He said that five years later, there are many original cast members who were committed to other projects.

Other than that, the show took a five year leap. So Claire is dead, much to the shock and dismay of the audience. Kring said that they designed the show in an elastic way.

It would allow more characters to be added. Moreover, it can be modified to appeal to a new range of audience.

The returning stars for the 13-episode event include Jack Coleman (H.R.G.), Masi Oka (Hiro), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder), Jimmy Jean-Louis (the Haitian) and Christine Rose (Angela Petrelli).

The new cast members include Ryan Guzman, Robbie Kay, Danika Yarosh, Judith Shekoni, Kiki Sukezane, Henry Zebrowski and Gatlin Green.

Zach Levi is also included in the cast. Although not indicating much about the nature of the characters, it appears to be a negative role. Zach might be hunting the heroes this time around. The heroes have become hunted.

Heroes Reborn will now premiere as a two-hour event on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 8 to 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
