The mystery continues for the Name of next version of Android

Google announced Android M back in May. From then there are two most important questions which are killing us out of curiosity.

First and the most intriguing is; What exactly “M” stands for? And the other question is what exactly version number the new OS will carry.

The general consensus for the version number of OS is considered to be 5.2. As for the next question, we won’t know the exact answers till next month.

But, Googlers Nat and Lo have found a method to tease us. They have made a video that contains the names of ten sweets with potential final names for Android M.

The prospective sweets that begin with the letter M that Google mentions in the video contains Macadamia brittle ,Moon Pie, Madeleine , Marzipan, Macaroon, Marshmallow, Milk Duds, Malt ball, Milkshake, Mousse, Mango lassi, Mocha, M&Ms, Molten chocolate cake, Meringue, Molasses and Maple syrup.

This is a whole bunch of deserts! Among the options, Milkshake, Muffin and Marshmallow have been the most popular guesses. But the new video by Google employees Nat and Lo on YouTube points to the latter.

The usual drama aside, two ladies have also come up with the song. The title name for the song is “What's M gonna be?"

This song also lists a bunch of possibilities for the expected abbreviation. The video ends with some guy painting or sandblasting a white half droid.

It looks quite similar to a marshmallow. We cannot be so sure whether Android “M” is Android Marshmallow.

It can be one of the Google tactics to throw us off track. Let’s wait tell next month to uncover these questions.
