A space elevator might get built. It is in the works and it could take us earthlings higher than ever.
If it does get built, it will stand 20 times higher than any other structure on earth. The so-called space elevator may carry astronauts. And ordinary people can venture to the edges of our atmosphere. It would be a great way for tourists to get their kicks.

Although it is still only an idea, it might get built. A patent for the building has gotten submitted. A Canadian firm named Thoth has applied for the construction of the elevator. It is a sort of pneumatic tower which carries its guests on board out into the stratosphere.
A lift car gets taken to the top via forces that are mighty in their range of motion. For one thing, it would be 20 km tall. This is 20 times the height of the tallest building on earth. It might even be a point where rockets alight.
Spaceships might launch from this highest of structures. Thus lots of costs for infrastructure might get averted thanks to this arrangement. An electric elevator will be in the center of this building.
“Astronauts would ascend to 20 km by electrical elevator. From the top of the tower, space planes will launch in a single stage to orbit, returning to the top of the tower for refueling and reflight,” said Dr. Brendan Quine, the inventor.
The top of the tower will serve as the main center point of the whole edifice. It will be the landing point and the launching point for all sorts of spacecraft. This is the stuff that dreams are made of.
It could prove revolutionary in the end. The structure almost reminds us of the Old Testament story of the Tower of Babel. Or it could be something out of a science fiction novel. One thing is for sure. It will cut the costs of space travel.
Termed the space elevator, the structure is definitely a space age, high-tech phenomenon. The Burj Khalifa in Dubai stands 829 meters tall. And just imagine. This building will be 20 times the height of that structure.
The structure lies way beyond the Armstrong Limit. This is a point beyond which the body’s fluids start boiling due to low atmospheric pressure. Thus the segments of the space elevator will have to consist of pressurized chambers. And they will have to get graded according to their respective heights.
