LG Just Announced a Wannabe iPad Killer

LG G Pad II 10.1 looks beautiful with a capable hardware

Earlier we spotted LG's new G Pad II 8.0. By then, it was announced only for LG’s home market of South Korea.

The hardware was disappointing. It was a total let down with the pokey Snapdragon 210 processor and 1.5GB RAM.

Luckily, it seems that LG is not going to go for the most minimized common denominator with all its anticipated tablets.

The G Pad II 10.1 announced today, has somewhat more oomph factor to its hardware. As far as specifications are concerned, the LG G Pad II 10.1 features a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920x1200 pixels) display.

It has a pixel density of 224ppi. It will be powered by a quad-core 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM.

The tablet will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It will come with 16GB inbuilt storage and will also support expandable storage through microSD card.

The tablet supports a 5-megapixel back camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The LG G Pad II 10.1 will be backed by a 7400mAh battery.

The device measures 254.3x161.1x7.8mm, and weighs 489 grams. Both the LG G Pad II 10.1 tablet Wi-Fi and 4G models will come with identical innards.

The LTE model will feature a SIM card slot and 3G and 4G LTE network support too. It will be available in Brilliant Bronze color.

The G Pad II 10.1 will likewise come with Microsoft Office pre-loaded and 100GB of free storage on Microsoft's OneDrive system.

The prices for both the Wi-Fi and LTE models are not yet revealed. According to LG’s press release both tablets will be available in North America, Europe, and Asia.

The company will show the tablet at the IFA trade show in Berlin next month.
