Miley Cyrus, who is hosting the award ceremony, wants this year VMA to be “Psychedelic” and “Raw”, not like the previous year when it had “no energy.”
“I didn’t want this V.M.As to be like they’ve been in the past,” Miley Cyrus told New York Times in an interview. “Last year there was not even a host, so there was no energy.”
Two years ago, when Miley Cyrus took the VMA stage, her performance was filled with sexually provocative moves and poses. There were dancing teddy bears, a foam finger and she was wearing skin-colored two piece. The 22-year old singer took a lot of criticism for her performance but she soaked up all and again she is ready to have a blast at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
So how did “Wrecking Ball” singer get back to the music award after all the negative reaction in 2013?
Miley told “Van Toffler, who runs MTV, it was his last year. He’s leaving and so he can’t get fired. He was like “I want to do something crazy – I want you to host the V.M.As because I want that to be my last shebang. It’s like “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
Since Miley is hosting the VMA now, she has an opportunity to set the tone for the show. Though, it is expected to be a lot more controlled than what she did during her performance in the past.
