The hybrid car will have a badge of 225xe. The 2 Series Active Tourer will contain BMW’s 1.5 liter three-cylinder TwinPower engine. The front wheels of the hybrid car will be transversely mounted through a six-speed automatic. The hybrid will also have a an 88hp / 136 Nm/100 lb-ft of torque electric motor.
According to BMWblog sources the BMW 2 Series AT eDrive will deliver its power instantaneously. The hybrid will also have a 0-62 mph shuttle in 6.5 seconds.
The hybrid will have an intelligent all-wheel drive system. The hybrid will also work with the Dynamic Stability Control to manage power for optimized traction. The system will increase acceleration and efficiency.
The expected cycle testing by EU will show an average of 2 liters per 100km. The 2 Series Active Tourer eDrive will first arrive in Europe. Then the car will also debut in the US in 2016.
