The cast will include renowned actor Tom Hanks, actress Emma Watson and John Boyega. Gillan will play the role of Annie in the movie, according to Deadline.
Annie is a warm, goofy, cute, fiercely intelligent member of The Circle. The Circle is an internet monopoly that links user’s personal emails, banking, social media and purchasing. These are linked with their universal operating system. This results in one online identity and a new age of civility and transparency.
The movie was also a hit at the Cannes earlier this year. It was when Alicia Vikander was starring opposite Tom Hanks. Emma Watson took over Vikander's role in the movie because Vikander got many offers following her breakout success in Ex Machina.
