Hugh Jackman said that he refused the role once but if asked again he will play the role of James Bond when Daniel Craig steps down.
Hugh Jackman was in his element as he went to promote his upcoming movie PAN on the Australian talk show, The Project. The 46 year old star was asked a number of questions among the panel that had been posted by fans.
A fan asked if he would play the role of James Bond if asked to. The crowd gave an initial cheer at the question. Hugh laughed a little before answering. He told the hosts and the audience that he had indeed been asked to play the role.
He estimated that it had been about 8 to 10 years ago before they signed on Daniel Craig. He said that he was preparing to shoot for X-Men part two. He said that at that time he didn’t particularly think that he was suited for the role and he had schedule problems. He said that he turned down the role. He also admitted that it had been hard for him.
He then added that if asked now when Craig steps down, he added that Craig is a great mate of his as well, he would seriously consider playing the role. The crowd did cheer that response.
Among other questions, he was asked about his preference of social media. He said that he had been reluctant about being a part of it but then he did and he loved it. He said that he had noticed that paparazzi had considerably reduced since he had started using it. Reason being that they couldn’t take a better photo of you then you can.
When asked about being humble, he joked a bit about being arrogant but on a serious note added that he had to act humble to determine himself to be humble. Another reason he attributed was his being grounded because of his family and kids.
He also said that being in Australia also helped his cause of humbleness where he recounted an encounter with a fan who had rambled out all kinds of bad names because he had been dazed to see him.
