The video released on Facebook dubs the 2016 car the world’s fastest SUV ever.
The new SUV by Bentley was slated to be released at the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor Show. After a long wait, Bentley just released a video of the SUV on its official Facebook page.
The SUV is called the Bentley Bentayga and has been dubbed the fastest SUV in the world. Bentley has been teasing about the SUV for months with images. Before the big final reveal, the video provides us with glimpses of the SUV in action.
The video footage shows the SUV in a high-speed test. The test takes place around VW's test track in Germany. The video has been entitled "Bentayga - the world's fastest SUV".
The Bentley Bentayga was always expected to be a very fast for a SUV. The speed of the SUV is a courtesy of its W12 engine. The video posted on Facebook shows the SUV is running on a digital speedometer of 301kph, or 187mph.
The speed is especially noteworthy since the car is heavy weight. Even the smallest car models by Bentley only weigh 2 tonnes. While Bentley Bentayga is the first heavyweight fast car by the brand.
The promotional video has also provided the first look at the interior of the car. The new Bentley SUV will be manufactured at the factory in Crewe, Cheshire. Previously Bentley cars were being made at the plant in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The concept of the Bentley Bentayga was first revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012. Back then the concept was named EXP 9 F concept. Bentley has confirmed they have changed the design considerably since the initial release. The design changes were made in response to customer feedback.
The later sketches revealed by Bentley included a sportier SUV. The profile of the concept was changed, according to Auto Express UK. The sketches were determined to resemble the Porsche’s Cayenne a lot. It was derived the SUV by Porsche and the Bentley SUV will be similar in more than just their platform with similar proportions.
The promotional video also provides a glimpse of the 4x4 system of the SUV. The system is a rotary controller more advanced than the Terrain Response set-ups present in the Land Rover.
Small glimpses of other technology features were also seen in the video promo. The central console of the Bentayga has been shown to be glossy. Gear shift and cup holders are naturally included in the SUV.
The Bentley Bentayga is also expected to come with a 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8, along with a 12-cylinder exhaust note. A Continental GT face has also been crafted onto the front end of the SUV.
The two oval exhausts give the SUV an athletic look, while the windscreen is placed steeply. The number plate and tail-lamp positioning is unchanged from the original concept.
According to Bentley the name Bentayga was derived from their belief the SUV will be better than any other in the world. Bentley believes they have combined the best automotive luxury with outstanding performance.
Bentley wishes to provide customers with the Bentley experience in a whole new environment. The ideas were shared by Wolfgang Dürheimer the Chairman and CEO of Bentley.

According to Dürheimer the name also encapsulate the variety of the Bentayga. The wide variety of climates and terrains that the Bentayga is capable of undertaking. Bentayga is a rugged peak in the Canary Islands.
