Apple says iPhone 6S will beat 10 million iPhone 6 Pre-order Weekend Record

Apple issued a statement about the iPhone 6S pre-order.

The iPhone 6S is in high demand. We already saw that on Saturday when the iPhone 6S Plus started to sell out. Now also select iPhone 6S launch inventory is sold out. Apple has ahead of an official announcement issued a statement to CNBC about the iPhone 6S pre-order progress.

Apple said: "Customer response to iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been extremely positive and preorders this weekend were very strong around the world," the company said in a statement. "We are on pace to beat last year's 10 million unit first-weekend record when the new iPhones go on sale September 25."

Apple continued: "As many customers noticed, the online demand for iPhone 6s Plus has been exceptionally strong and exceeded our own forecasts for the preorder period," the company said Monday. "We are working to catch up as quickly as we can, and we will have iPhone 6s Plus as well as iPhone 6s units available at Apple retail stores when they open next Friday."

The Cupertino company mixes up how it reports about an iPhone 6 pre-order launch. Last year Apple revealed how many iPhone 6 got sold in the first 24 hours.

In either case, Apple will have sold through 10 million iPhone 6S units before they devices ship on Friday. The analysts who predicted flat iPhone 6S sales will be proofed wrong. It is not only the new features that draw consumers to the new iPhone 6S. Carriers have entered a price war to win iPhone customers.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus bring a new dimension to iPhone’s Multi-Touch interface with 3D Touch, which senses how deeply you press the display, letting you do all kinds of essential things more quickly and simply.

The new iPhones introduce Live Photos, which bring still images to life, transforming instants frozen in time into living memories.

Live Photos, 3D Touch, 12-megapixel iSight camera, 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera with Retina Flash and more are powered by the Apple-designed A9 chip, the most advanced chip ever in a smartphone, delivering faster performance and great battery life.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are designed from the strongest glass on any smartphone and 7000 series aluminum, the same alloy used in the aerospace industry, in gorgeous metallic finishes that now include rose gold.
