She used to hang out in the Hollywood circles which inspired many of her books. Some would argue that her books were the erotic best seller way before E.L. James even tried her mantle.
Her books were also adapted into TV series' and movies which included Hollywood Wives, Hollywood Wives: The New Generation and Lucky Chances. She was noted as an amazing person and a remarkable producer in her own regard. Collins also produced the 2004 TV documentary Jackie Collins Presents and appeared this year in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!
Jackie’s struggle with cancer was something that she kept secret. Even her own sister, Joan Collins found out that she was dying a few weeks before her death. Family and friends were all devastated and her fans were equally shocked.
Collins’ family said in a statement following her death that she lived a wonderfully full life and was adored by her family, friends and the millions of readers who she has been entertaining for over four decades.
She was a true inspiration, a trail blazer for women in fiction and a creative force. She will live on through her characters but, we already miss her beyond words. Joan posted a childhood picture whilst saying goodbye to her sister on Twitter.
Few of her co-workers and actors who had worked with her also paid tribute to the deceased British star on their own social forums. Gilbert, who starred in Hollywood Wives: The New Generation, tweeted about Jackie on Saturday which defined her as an amazing woman. Talented. Funny. Kind. Gilbert called her one of her very favorite producers ever.
Desperately sad today but I know Jackie would want me to be strong but it's hard to lose somebody so wonderful, so incredible & loving— Joan Collins (@Joancollinsdbe) September 21, 2015
Even though Jackie was amidst such love and had given so much to the entertainment industry, she was missed out in the Emmy Memorial tribute. The writer was not included in the memorial, reported LATimes. And many fans were disappointed that she was not in there. Her death did come as a shock to many and the suddenness of it might have been attributed to the Emmy memorial not being updated including her death.
