iPhone 6S Teardown Reveals Incredible Beauty Inside

Once again the new iPhone gets taken apart for fans to ogle what is inside. As always, Apple spends a lot of attention making the inside of the iPhone 6S a thing of beauty.

The iPhone 6S goes on sale today in several markets around the world. Apple Stores open at 8am local time to sell the new iPhone 6S to customers in line. As always, the guys at iFixit have gotten their hands on a new iPhone earlier to provide a high resolution look inside the iPhone 6S.

The iPhone 6S Teardown shows that the iPhone 6S did not change on the outside, but a lot in the inside. The new hardware specifications include the A9 CPU and the 4.7-inch 1,334x750px 3D Touch enabled display. Also new are the 12MP iSight camera and the 5MP FaceTime camera.

iFixit even used an X-Ray to reveal the insides of the new Taptic engine. The new Taptic engine can reach peak output after just one oscillation.

As rumored the iPhone 6S battery has a bit lower capacity of 1,715mAh (iPhone 6: 1,810mAh, but is rather easy to swap out, if you know what you are doing.

The revealed iC units in the iPhone 6S teardown include Apple A9 APL0898 SoC, Samsung LPDDR4 RAM (as denoted by the markings K3RG1G10BM-BGCH), Qualcomm MDM9635M LTE Cat. 6 Modem (vs. the MDM9625M found in the iPhone 6), InvenSense MP67B 6-axis Gyroscope and Accelerometer Combo (also found in iPhone 6), Bosch Sensortec 3P7 LA 3-axis Accelerometer (likely BMA280), TriQuint TQF6405 Power Amplifier Module, Skyworks SKY77812 Power Amplifer Module and Avago ACPM-8030 power amplifier module.
