Microsoft Announces Surface Book, A Hybrid Device

Microsoft today has announced its new Surface Book with 12 hours of battery life.

Microsoft today has amazed us all with its latest and greatest Surface Book which will not only satisfy the needs of tablets lovers but Laptop seekers as well.

Microsoft has unveiled another brand-new Tablet PC today. The Microsoft Surface Book is Microsoft's first-ever convertible laptop.

It is basically a hybrid device with a detachable tablet and a keyboard base. With the help of the Dynamic Fulcrum hinge, Surface book looks like a traditional tablet.

When the keyboard is detached, you get a simple 720g (1.6 pound) tablet. The laptop includes a 13.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen with 6 million pixels.

It includes an Intel Skylake processor and a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GPU with GDDR5 memory. It comes with a 6th gen Intel Core (i5 or i7), up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage with 12 hours of battery life.

It's also got PCI Express-connected solid-state storage. The base of the laptop includes a backlit keyboard with 1.6mm key travel and a glass trackpad with 5-point multi touch.

Connectivity options include  two USB 3.0 ports and a full-size SD card slot. Microsoft claims that the new Surface book is two times more powerful than a 13 inched- MacBook Pro.

The Surface Book starts at $1,499 and is available for pre-order from tomorrow. It will start shipping on October 26. UK and European pricing is not known yet.
