Apple has made some serious changes in with the inner workings of the new speaker.
The original Pill speaker was launched in 2012 and the Pill+ is the newest and most improved addition to the lineup.
The Pill+ is the major addition to the speaker lineup from Apple for quite some time. Apple has not released any Bluetooth speaker since it overtook Beats Electronics in May 2014 for a total of $3 billion.
It has been producing only headphones since then as Beats is famous for them. Apple, for Pill+, has acquired a clean and subtle look as compared to the previous version and there is no extra flair in Pill+.
The Beats Logo button and the power and playback controls are also eliminated from the back. All the options are now shifted to the upper part of the speaker.
There is a full-sized USB port, Apple’s proprietary Lightning port, and a 3.5mm audio input jack on the back of the device.
The new Pill+ is slightly bigger than the previous version which according to Apple is capable of producing more loud sound than its predecessor.
On the grounds of battery, Apple has claimed that the Pill+ can work up to 12 hours of constant music play on a solo charge.
There is also a battery gauge which indicates that how much battery is left. A full recharge can take around 3 hours. The Pill+ can also charge other devices through the USB port.
The new Pill+ is costlier than the previous version. The speaker is prized at $229.95 and is available in black or white.
The speaker is expected to be available starting November this year.
