It will be accessible by both Android and iOS users. The new API will allow developers to create apps with voice recognition capabilities for Pebble Time watches.
Pebble did not develop this new technology on its own. Rather than following the footsteps of Google and Apple - who are the proud owners of their own smartwatches - Pebble opted for a well known company Nuance; which expertly deals in voice recognition tech.
Kean Wong, Vice President of Software Engineering at Pebble said in his statement that making voice ability available to developers and manufacturers will be beneficial for Pebble and will help expand the Pebble family.
He also said that such possibilities will give users an option to have applications that are more fun, instinctive, and simple to use.
The users who own Time and Pebble Time Steel smartwatches with Android phones are already capable of replying to the text messages and emails via voice directly.
