The Mars space epic film was knocked down from the top spot by the release of the film ‘Goosebumps’. Now it seems both of the films are competing in a close race for the no. 1 spot on the box office charts.
The family horror comedy ‘Goosebumps’ is in the second week of its release. So far, both ‘The Martian’ and the ‘Goosebumps’ have earned around $14 million-$15 million in box office sales.
Considering the film ‘The Martians’ is in the fourth week of its release, the numbers are a major victory. The jury is still out on who will dominate the box office once again. Will ‘The Martian’ regain the top spot or will ‘Goosebumps’ keep a hold on its current spot on the box office?
‘The Martian’ starring Matt Damon is based on the famous novel of the same name. The film has so far generated positive reviews. ‘Goosebumps’ on the other hand was a surprise hit. The comedy horror is also based on a beloved children’s book series.
Both the films have retained their fight for the top despite the release of the film ‘Steve Jobs’. While the film ‘Steve Jobs’ is a new nationwide release it has so far only landed the number three spot on the box office.
