A big group of great white sharks has raised concerns among Californians. These lethal monsters have been spotted off the coast and pose serious dangers to swimmers and surfers.
About 20 great white sharks were seen to be swimming in the waters off the coast of Pacifica and Ocean Beach. The swimmers, kayakers and surfers in the vicinity need to be vigilant regarding this menace. Between 10 to 20 feet in length, these sharks with razor sharp teeth were present in the depths some 100 yards into the sea.

One of the coast guards expressed astonishment over the appearance of so many sharks in the sea. They spotted the critters from their helicopters. The flurry of fins was visible skimming the surface of the waves.
A few of the sharks were very large and possibly man-eaters in the making, according to San Francisco Chronicle. This is the only such example of so many of these feral beasts congregating in a region reserved for the enjoyment of city inhabitants.
It has been surmised that the presence of these sharks is due to the inordinately high temperatures of the waters off the coast. They tend to breed faster in such circumstances.
The problem is that some of these sharks are as mature as they come and they can cause grievous injury to human beings and seals. Mostly the sharks that dared to venture near the offshore loci were smaller ones.
Now instead of juvenile sharks we have mature and full-fledged sharks that are big enough to bite back. The heating of the waters due to the El Nino weather pattern is responsible for this novel phenomenon.
It is a threat to life and limb for humans and animals alike. About a month back, a great white shark viciously tore apart and consumed a sea lion off the coast much to the shock and horror of the people nearby.
Many of these sharks can grow to be 21 feet in length and weigh over 7000 pounds. These massive creatures are a nightmare for benign human beings swimming in the waters near them.
