Ryan Reynolds Mourns Father’s Death by Supporting Parkinson’s Research

The Canadian actor’s father James Reynolds passed away from Parkinson’s disease earlier this week.

The star mourned the death of his father James Reynolds in a touching tribute. The Deadpool actor shared a heart-warming childhood photograph with his father.

The picture shows Ryan Reynolds as a baby while his father is holding him. James Reynolds was 74 years old and suffering from Parkinson’s disease for the last 20 years. The Canadian actor announced the news on his twitter page along with the picture. In the same tweet Ryan Reynolds asked his fans to support research for Parkinson’s disease.

Reynolds posted the tweet on Wednesday saying ‘RIP Pops’ and ‘James C. Reynolds. 1941-2015’. Ryan added a link to a major foundation carrying on research on the Parkinson’s disease. The link leads to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

An online obituary was also set up for James Reynolds. James Reynolds went by the nickname Jim and passed away on Sunday. Jim was surrounded by his loved ones at a hospital in White Rock, B.C. 

According to the obituary even his disease could not slow down Jim and he remained a strong and passionate man. Jim’s spirit, stories and memories live on in his sons and grand kids. Jim Reynolds granddaughter through Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively has also been named James.

Rather than flowers, other family members have also been asked to donate to the Parkinson’s research. Jim Reynolds was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1995. Jim Reynolds since then became involved with the organisation and served on the board of directors.
