Idina Menzel joined Taylor Swift as Olaf in an Elsa costume to sing her award winning song ‘Let it Go’ .
Taylor Swift 1989 tour has been filled with celebrity appearances. She has been joined by Selena Gomez, Mary G. Blige, Ellen DeGeneres, Justin Timberlake, Weeknd, Mick Jagger, Kobe Bryant and many other artists.
It was really a brainteaser about what Taylor might have planned for her Halloween performance at her concert at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday night. After she had performed Style, Swift surprised concertgoers when she disappeared backstage.
There were jeers all around as she quickly re-emerged in her Olaf costume. Her background dancers, meanwhile, donned reindeer outfits as the singer addressed the crowd. She said to her audience that if they hadn’t noticed till then, there was a Frozen theme going on.
She speculated that it would be complete if Idina Menzel was there. That was the cue for Idina Menzel to appear through a trap door in the stage. She looked absolutely stunning in an Elsa costume. A dazzling blue dress complete with an aqua cape.
She broke into a rendition of her award winning, “Let it Go”. The audience sang the verses along as she sang the song and Taylor danced along. As soon as the frst chorus was finished, both the singers turned.
Taylor’s Olaf costume was removed to reveal a silver body suit. Idina’s Elsa costume removal revealed a black overall suit with lacy leg patches. Taylor then sang the second verse while Idina looked on excitedly and the chorus was accompanied by fireworks.
It was an amazing moment that Taylor also shared on her Instagram saying that Frozen totally happened tonight. And 55,000 people sang 'Let it Go' so loudly, it nearly took my breath away. Good times, @idinamenzel. Idina called it an “out of body experience,” on her own Instagram.
