Black Ops 3 Servers Not Down, In-Game Update Fixes Connection Issues

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 has released. Gamers have been engaging in new Black Ops missions since midnight EDT.

The highly anticipated new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 game was released at midnight Eastern time. Many Black Ops 3 players have been experiencing connection problems. To fix the connection issue Activision says that gamers have to restart their console and install the latest Black Ops update.

Like with most multi-player games, Black Ops 3 requires a released day patch. If you cannot connect to Black Ops servers right now it does not mean that the servers are down. The problem is with your Black Ops 3 installation. You need to install the update.

Like in the good old PC days, a reset is what fixes the problem.

The Activision support page says: "If you are currently experiencing a connection error, you may need to exit the game and restart your console to finalize an in-game update. Once the update has taken place, you should be able to reconnect to the multiplayer servers."

The in-game update happens automatically. Wait until the update downloads completely. On the main loading screen watch for the version updated version is for PS4 and for Xbox One, the updated version is

The version number of Black Ops 3 is displayed at the top right corner of the screen. The update is not big and should only take a minute to install.

If you get the "A.B.C. error message" when entering the Black Ops 3 multi-player mode , you need to wait for the update to finish installing.

Activision will likely report another media sales record for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The hype has been red hot again this year for the new COD game. Activision pulled out all stops with the live action trailer for Black Ops 3 staring Cara Delevingne and Marshawn Lynch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a dark, gritty future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the cutting-edge military robotics that define the future of combat.

Treyarch elevates the Call of Duty social gaming experience by delivering a campaign that is designed for four-player co-op and re-playability. Players encounter all the epic cinematic gameplay moments that Call of Duty is known for, as well as new open-area arena-style gameplay elements designed to allow players to approach the game with a different strategy each time they play.

With Black Ops 3, Treyarch premieres a new momentum-based chained-movement system, allowing players to fluidly move through the environment with finesse, using controlled thrust jumps, slides, wall runs, and mantling abilities in a multitude of combinations, all while maintaining complete control over your weapon at all times. Maps are designed from the ground-up for the new movement system, allowing players to be successful with traditional movement, as well as advanced tactics and maneuvers.
