Walgreens Integrates Its Card With Apple Pay

Walgreens becomes the first US retailer to Integrate Its Card With Apple Pay.

Walgreens has just reported that its users who have joined the Balance Rewards loyalty project can now reclaim their prizes with Apple Pay.

This makes Walgreens the first retailer to have benefits from Apple’s mobile payments systems’ new feature made available with the arrival of iOS 9.

The new deal eliminates the requirement for Walgreens clients to check their physical Balance Rewards loyalty card or a QR code to have the capacity to earn and reclaim loyalty points by just swiping their Apple Pay-prepared iPhone or Apple Watch over the sale terminal.

Users should include their Balance Rewards card into Apple Pay by means of the Wallet (Passbook) application, in the same way they add their credit and platinum cards.

At the point when making a buy they just need to swipe their iPhone over the credit card reader with a finger over Touch ID to reclaim their prizes, before swiping again to pay for their buy.

Apple Watch users will need to tap the devices’ side button twice, tap the Balance Rewards card and swipe the watch face over the terminal.

As mentioned above, Walgreens’ reward card can be used with Apple Pay but with the help of Wallet app in iOS 9 on the iPhone and watchOS 2 on Apple Watch.

The purchase can be carried after downloading the Walgreens app from the App Store and signing in with log in credentials.

Apple Pay for Walgreens’ reward cards works with iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, and 6s Plus as well any Apple Watch which requires iPhone 5 or later.
