Best Buy Special Holiday Shopping Event is Today

Best Buy hosts a big in store Holiday sales event with Black Friday-like prices on Saturday, November 7. Here are the deals.

Best Buy is hosting today a Special Holiday Shopping Events in select stores. All Best Buy stores will though offer Black Friday-like deals on this year’s hottest gifts said Best Buy in October.

Today, Saturday November 7, special holiday shopping events will take place in 400 participating Best Buy stores from 1 to 5 p.m. local time. The in-store events will feature robot and virtual reality demos run by Best Buy's Geek Squad Agents.

The first customers arriving will get a free tech gift and the chance to win one of five $1,000 Best Buy gift cards through a Twitter sweepstakes. To enter the sweepstakes you need to tweet a photograph of yourself only with the designated cardboard cut-out located at a participating Best Buy store with #WinTheHolidaysSweepstakes between 1 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET on 11/7/15.

The gadgets on display include the Star Wars BB-8 droid by Sphero, Parrot Jumping Sumo MiniDrone, Ollie by Sphero, Sphero SPRK Edition and the Samsung Gear Innovator Edition. Disappointing that Best Buy does not have yet the new 2015 Gear VR device

If you plan on visiting a Best Buy Holiday shopping event today, Best Buy offers a list of participating stores here

Best Buy will offer a selection of Black Friday deals at the 1-Day special Holiday Shopping event. The list of deals includes Apple gadget, TV, laptop, camera, appliance and video game deals.

The iPad Air 2 64GB is selling for $524.99 instead of $599.99. The MacBook Air comes with a $100 gift card. A bundle of Apple TV and an iPhone 6 on 2-year contract saves $70.

The TV deals are more interesting. Customers can save $1,200 on Sony 65X900C 65" Class (64.5" Diag.) LED 4K Ultra HD Smart 3D TV and also $500 on Samsung 60JS8000 60" Class (60" Diag.) LED 4K Ultra HD Smart TV.

The Xbox One consoles come with a $50 gift card and a free game, but you need to buy an limited edition Halo 5 controller with your choice of Xbox One. That is a weird limitation. The Sony PS4 console deal is simpler. Any Sony PS4 console comes with a free Destiny: The Taken King Game.

The first Best Buy Black Friday laptop deals include a $699.99 HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 Laptop. Surface Pro 3 tablets are $200 off.

Lastly, select Fitbit trackers are on sale, but Best Buy did not reveal the discounts yet. The Best Buy Black Friday deals today lack the appeal of the Black Friday deals Sam's Club has advertised for the Sam's Club Holiday Savings Celebration Event on November 14. Best Buy needs to get more creative with their Black Friday 2015 deals as we get closer to the actual Black Friday on November 27.

Best Buy also hosts a Black Friday 2015 Appliance Sale, competing with home improvement stores Lowe's and Home Depot.

We expect the Best Buy Black Friday 2015 Ad to be released next week. So far 21 Black Friday 2015 Ads are released online.

The Best Buy Holiday Sales event today is a nice way to get into the Holiday tech gift spirit. Just do not expect to find the best Black Friday deals of the season today.
