Jennifer Lopez plays a morally conflicted detective/FBI informant in the first look of the upcoming crime drama.

Jennifer Lopez just revealed the trailer for ‘Shades of Blue’ on Sunday. The first trailer was posted on her official Facebook page by Lopez. The trailer shows Lopez playing a morally conflicted character, Harlee Santos. Santos is a Brooklyn detective and single mom.

Santos is forced to go undercover by the FBI and betray her team. Santos becomes an informant to protect her daughter. Ray Liotta plays Lopez’s boss as Lt. Matt Wozniak. Wozniak on the other hand is shown to be very protective of his team. The trailer shows Wozniak will do anything to reveal the identity of the FBI informant. 

Santos is seen shooting her partner in the trailer and then staging a crime scene. Lopez narrates how she can improvise for creative police work in the trailer.  In one of her bust’s Lopez’s character goes too far and is arrested by FBI. Santos is then forced to become a federal informant. 

The pilot was directed by Barry Levinson, who won an Oscar for directing Rain Man. The series ‘Shades of Blue’ will consist of 13 episodes. The series will air on NBC in January 2016. While sharing the trailer Lopez also wrote how proud she is of the series Shades of Blue. Lopez also shared she cannot wait for her fans to see the show.
