Chinese researchers seem to have developed a special stealth material that can easily hide sea vessels and jets from detection by a radar. This is a great accomplishment indeed.
China has really done it again. Its dedicated and hardworking scientists have made a material that is far more advanced than anything else on the planet. It can cause an invisibility cloak to surround the large object it is applied to. The news of the stealth material was published in the Journal of Applied Physics. The basic technique behind this new technology is termed “active frequency selecting surface” (AFSS).

Basically it consists of an extremely thin material with many layers to it arranged like scales one on top of the other. The overall thickness is a mere 7.8 mm. As for the details of the material, they are simply mindboggling.
The outer layers consist of a honeycomb rhizome of sorts that is only 7mm in width. After this there comes a copper and semiconductor AFSS layer. It is 0.04mm in thickness. As for the last layer it is termed FR4. This material is used in circuit boards and responds to radio signals by absorbing their frequencies.
This versatile material may be employed on everything from stealth drones to fighter jets and space satellites. However, the immediate use will probably be on ships that float on the oceanic waves.
These ships will be quite difficult to espy from any radar facility. This is a very big advantage for the military establishment. The material wards off any microwave radar rays with ease and deftness.
Fighter jets will really become killing machines via this methodology. Stealth technology and invisibility cloaks have been a long-standing research topic and advances have been made in this field in the last few decades.
The military-industrial complex has heavily financed this new trend in spycraft and covert warfare. The basic objective is to remain hidden from plain view. This is not an easy task. It requires the greatest of care to go undetected from the keen observation gaze of an enemy’s radar facilities.

The stealth technology basically acts on a particulate level by breaking down the signals from the radar. Radar waves simply go on the rebound from the stealth technology material on the surface of whatever ship or jet aircraft there is present in the ocean or sky. One thing which is especially used in this methodology is ultra high frequencies which enable higher resolution.
