Researchers have found palliative measures for chytrid amphibian fungus.

Chytrid fungus is fatal to frogs and other amphibians on a worldwide basis. But now scientists have found a cure for this killer disease. This is quite a new scope in disease eradication alright.

About 700 species of frogs were affected by the deadly fungus. Frogs were vanishing and dropping dead like flies on a global level. The study was published in a zoological journal. A Mallorcan midwife toad was cured of the disease using a special antifungal medicine.

The antifungal agent was used to disinfect the eggs and tadpoles and thus wipe out any signs of the disease. At least in the wilderness, the frogs have been lent prophylactic immunity from the mortal disease.

They will not be subject to the malady anymore thanks to the intervention of science. The incidence of chytrid fungus disease among amphibians was something that had become a cause for concern.

But now thankfully the whole episode is behind us. And it is all due to rescue work by science and the scientific method. This eradication of chytrid disease can lead to the elimination of other similar illnesses in the wild flora and fauna.

Frogs populations were seen to undergo considerable decimation in the last few years. At first this was thought to be due to pollutants and insecticides in the environment. The usage of polymers was thought to cause the problem. But upon a closer look, it was found to be due to diseases unique to the frog population.

These consisted of fungal diseases that were specific to the frogs and seemed to be endemic to their kind as a species. So the experts started an intensive study into the reasons behind amphibian deaths and began plans to save these gentle animals from certain extinction.

The researchers and scientists have succeeded in benefiting the amphibians. Now Nature’s balance has been restored thanks to the efforts of human agents. It is our prerogative as conscious animals to reset the homeostasis of the environment closer to its original set point instead of ruining it via our messy activities.

Whereas animals and plants cannot articulate themselves through linguistic means, humankind has the miraculous power of language with which a universe above the mundane is opened up. And so as stewards of the planet, we humans can see to it that even animals and plants remain disease-free for a better natural habitat.
