There is one category that outranks any other in Black Friday sales.
When you think about Black Friday discounts, you tend to think about people jumping all over themselves for discounted televisions, phones, or computers. However, a look into the best deals for Black Friday 2015 reveals something a little strange - the best deals come not from electronics or clothing, but from jewelry!

According to Wallet Hub, big retailers are pushing jewelry more than anything else this year, with an average price cut near 73 percent. The Washington, DC based financial site scanned nearly 8,000 Black Friday deals from 30 of the largest retailers in the United States to get their numbers.
This is the second year in a row for jewelry to be one of the most discounted items. However, last year (2014) the average discount was at 58 percent - meaning you can score some serious deals this year.
The second highest category, books, music, and movies, comes in at 56 percent, which is about what it was last year.
The website Groupon advertised the highest discounts on jewelry in its Black Friday sales, averaging 84 percent. Among its Black Friday jewelry deals: 14k white gold ball stud earrings for $24.99 (listed at $175), genuine cultured freshwater pearl earrings for $9.99 (listed at $50), and a “randomly selected piece of genuine diamond jewelry,” with 1 ct. t.w. of J I3 stones for $40 (listed at $499).
Meijer, Stage Stores, Kohl's, and Kmart are also near the highest amount off for jewelry.
Wallet Hub analyst Jill Gonzalez said that that jewelry is a top pick because, “It is something that stores really want to move out in terms of inventory, whereas other categories, like electronics, people buy all year.”

It also has to do with the fact that jewelry is an easy item for men to buy and because it is priced much higher, the discount must also be higher.
