Walmart has unveiled a list of Black Friday deals that require a wristband to buy in stores.
Visiting a Walmart Store on Thanksgiving Day is insane, but there is no way around it if you want one of Walmart's Black Friday doorbuster deals. Walmart did say that for the first time most Black Friday deals will be offered online, but that does not mean that the best deals will be available online.
We already know that the five 1-Hour Guarantee Deals will be only available in stores, starting 6pm on Thanksgiving Day. Walmart will also hand out again wristbands for the most popular doorbuster deals with limited stock. Walmart has revealed that seven deals require a wristband.
The Walmart doorbuster deal requiring a wristband include the $199 HP Laptop, $448 55-inch Hisense 4K UHD Smart HDTV, $28.88 RCA 8-inch Tablet, $149 Apple Beats Pill Wireless Speaker, $149 40-inch 1080p LED TV, $269 50-inch 1080p LED TV and all Straight Talk phone deals.
Wristbands are distributed in the department where the doorbuster deal is offered. To find the locations, Walmart has released Black Friday Store Maps that show the spots where the Wristband deals are offered.
It is not exactly clear when Walmart associates start to hand out wristbands. It could be before the 6pm launch of the Black Friday 2015 sale. We have seen reports that wristbands have been handed out 1 hour before, 5pm, last year. Wristbands need to used within a 2 hour window after the deal goes live. This means you need to complete your purchase before 8pm.
Once the all wristbands are handed out, the deal inventory is gone. This is in contrast to the five 1-Hour Guarantee deals, which have unlimited stock, as Walmart hands out 1-Hour Guarantee vouchers in case in-store inventory runs out.
One way to avoid the hassle of visiting a Walmart store for Black Friday is to try to catch Walmart's doorbuster deals that Amazon is matching or even beating. See the list of announced Amazon Black Friday 2015 Deals.
