The refined three wheeled vehicle was displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The P5 prototype was recently displayed at the Elio booth at the LA auto show. Elio has been trying to bring a highly efficient, low-cost vehicle to market. Progress by Elio was seen at the LA auto show as the new P5 prototype vehicle was displayed. The new P5 model is sleeker than the P4 version. The P4 version was displayed earlier in the year at the New York Auto Show.

The P5 was conceived over summer 2015. The new P5 comes with a 0.9-liter 3-cylinder engine by IAV. The engine design is by Elio itself. According to Elio the new P5 was supposed to get 84 miles per gallon. However Elio also admitted the software testing has revealed the vehicle can generate 81.6 mpg in the prototype. It is safe to assume the finished product will come true to its 84 miles promise.

Elio will launch the vehicle by the end of 2016. More than 47,000 have already pre-ordered the vehicle. The delivery date for the customers will be roughly 12 months from now. The fifth generation prototype P5 is an enclosed vehicle. The retail price for the Elio P5 finished vehicle will be about $6,800. Paul Elio is the CEO of Elio Motors. According to Paul Elio they are extremely proud to unveil the new Elio Motors prototype. Paul also added their specially designed engine is the heart of the vehicle prototype.
