Airbnb has dethroned Google as the best place to work, according to Glassdoor's list of the 50 Best Places to Work.

The company, which is a vacation rental business based in San Francisco, debuted at number one on the list, earning a score of 4.6 out of 5. According to the release, Airbnb employees praised its culture, perks, and growth opportunities.

"The people that work here are some of the best I've met in my professional career. The culture is good," an Airbnb employee wrote on Glassdoor. "The founders are great people and I believe they have the best intentions for the company, the employees, and our community. There is a lot of opportunity to learn from different teams and possibly switch roles as departments grow and new team form."

Fifteen San Francisco companies made the list this year, more than any other city. The reigning champion, Google, fell to eight place this year. Apple also fell from 22nd to 25th. LinkedIn and Facebook were two of the companies that climbed this year. There were 13 new companies added to the list, including Red Bull, Expedia, and Delta Airlines.

Glassdoor's ratings are based on employee feedback that was submitted in the last year as of November 1, 2015. Companies need to have been reviewed 75 times during that time, and had to employ at least 1,000 people in order to qualify. Since Glassdoor started releasing rankings in 2008, four companies have appeared on the list: Google, Apple, Bain & Company and Chevron.
