Apple TV App Store

Since Apple TV launched many months ago, consumers have been waiting eagerly to have unhindered access to the Apple TV App Store which only got opened late October, and analysis conducted a couple of days back revealed about 2,624 apps are already available waiting for instant download on the platform.

The total number of 2,624 apps available for download at the Apple TV App Store says a lot about how developers are busy creating fascinating products that users would find excellent on the store – for a store that is a little over a month old. This means that by the end of this year, the number of apps ready for download at the store might rise to 5,000 and by early next year, it might be over 10,000.

Another discovery with the Apple TV App Store is that the Games category has the largest number of apps totally 1,002, meaning that games constitute nearly 38% of all apps for Apple TV at the moment. And coming behind games in the highest number of apps available in each category is Entertainment; while the Shopping category has only 9 apps for now but it is expected that this number might increase considering the fact that this is a holiday season.

There are over 20 main categories for developers to publish their apps on Apple TV App Store. It must however be noted that Apple does not allow for ads to feature in its apps for now, so developers are left with no choice but to monetize their apps by charging a moderate amount for them. Analysis revealed that 39% of the apps on the store are paid apps, with most of them costing only $2.99 or less; although there are a few that is pricier at $59.99.
