The OpenAI team believes artificial intelligence “should be an extension of individual human wills” and promoting liberty in all forms to as many as would tap into its potentials. The team is not deceived about the uncertainties involved in the tasks ahead, but are convinced that the goal is worthwhile and the structures they have put on the ground is good enough to make everything work out.
Broadly speaking, artificial intelligence of the branch of computer science that deals with writing computer programs that can solve problems creatively.
Although many scientists wish artificial intelligence would enable them to create human-level intelligence algorithms, this has not really been the case; but then it has helped for the discovery of deep learning, which has proven highly useful in solving a variety of problems associated with latest technologies.
Over the years, researchers have applied deep learning to image recognition, machine translation, and speech recognition among others, and it currently being designed to give computers the powers to dream, feel, and experience things.
Considering how far artificial intelligence has come in modern technologies, the OpenAI team states that “It's hard to fathom how much human-level AI could benefit society, and it's equally hard to imagine how much it could damage society if built or used incorrectly.”
The team aims for Open AI to become a public institution that will not be driven by monetary rewards or profit-seeking ventures, but rather an open platform for reputable researchers to publish their blog posts, papers, and other works such as codes with everyone else. The group intends to partner with several institutions and companies to research newer technologies.

Ilya Sutskever is the research director for OpenAI, and Greg Brockman is the CTO among over 10 other top-rated scientists and engineers. Elon Musk and about 7 other top investors have committed about $1 billion to the project, although the team thinks only a fraction of this will be spent in the coming years.
