Taylor Swift announced today on her 26th birthday that there will be a movie about her mega successful 1989 World Tour. The 1989 World Tour Live movie will premiere on Apple Music on December 20. On Monday, Taylor Swift will talk about the 1989 movie on Apple's Beats radio with Zane Lowe.
Taylor Swift's World Tour concerts made headline news numerous times. The performer invited big stars on stage including Mick Jagger, Selena Gomez, Miranda Lambert, Alanis Morissette, Wiz Khalifa, Justin Timberlake and many more. Now there will be a movie telling this story. Because of all these stars, the 1989 World Tour Live movie is more than just a concert documentary.
Directed by Jonas Akerlund, the 1989 World Tour Live film will debut on Apple Music exclusively. This is a big deal for Apple and will generate new sign-ups for its streaming music service. Apple is still offering a 3-month free trial.
