The prototype of the BMW 1 Series Sedan was once again wearing its typical camouflage. The car was built by BMW under the codename F52.
Once released the 1 Series Sedan will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLA and the Audi A3 Sedan. The Sedan by BMW is built with a front-wheel-drive-based design.
The design of the new Sedan is expected to be similar to the recently unveiled BMW Concept Compact Sedan. For example the rear fascia’s chrome trim and taillights are smaller variants of the new 7 Series.
Similarly the front end bears similarity to the entire BMW model released in recent years. The 1 Series Sedan also rides on a long wheelbase. The wheelbase has C-Pillar sitting atop the rear wheels. However the rear wheels are shorter than BMW-typical front overhang.
The 1 Series Sedan will come with either a three- and four-cylinder engine. Similarly there is an inline direct-injection petrol and common-rail diesel units under the hood.
